Introducing Sourcegraph Enterprise Starter

Last week, we shared our vision for the industrialization of code with the introduction of agents, auto-edit, and agentic chat capabilities to help developers reduce toil and ship faster. Today we’re announcing Sourcegraph Enterprise Starter for growing teams of up to 50 devs, a new self-serve plan allowing even more developers to leverage our advanced code search and AI capabilities.

Sourcegraph combines the world's best LLMs with the most precise and universal index of code, technical knowledge, and integrations into the long tail of enterprise editors, code hosts, context sources, and dev tools. The Enterprise Starter plan lowers the barrier to entry to bringing these capabilities to your organization.

Self-serve Sourcegraph with the Enterprise Starter plan

The Sourcegraph Enterprise Starter plan gives growing teams access to the most popular Sourcegraph features including code search, AI chat with the new chat experience, prompt library, the ability to index private code, and multi-repo context capabilities.

Enterprise Starter plans start at $19 per user per month and support teams of up to 50 developers, up to 100 GitHub private and public repositories, and 5GB of storage. Adding additional seats gives you 1GB of additional storage per seat, for a maximum total of 10GB.

Code Search

Search and find all of your code in one place. With the Sourcegraph Enterprise Starter plan, you can index both private and public repositories and have access to Sourcegraph’s powerful code search and search-based code navigation.

Sourcegraph’s search query syntax puts you in control with various filters, boolean operators, regular expressions, and other capabilities that make finding the exact function, symbol, or file you’re searching for fast and easy. You can even save searches and search contexts for faster and more precise searches. Learn more about the Sourcegraph search query syntax in the docs.

Context-enhanced chat

Enterprise Starter users get access to a new context-enhanced chat experience that supports both chat and search results. This chat experience carries over to Cody, our AI coding assistant that lives inside your IDE and supports VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, Visual Studio, and Eclipse.

Multi-repo context

The Sourcegraph Enterprise Starter plan allows you to index up to 100 GitHub repositories, search across them, and use LLM chat to explain and generate new code. Multi-repo context allows you to bring in context from multiple repositories in a single prompt making it easier to understand complex systems and accelerate development workflows.

Imagine that you have a backend REST API repository and a front-end client repository. With multi-repo context, while working in the front-end client repository, you can query against the backend repository to figure out what parameters you need to pass to the different endpoints the backend exposes, all without ever leaving your editor.

Prompt Library

The Prompt Library allows you and your team to create and share reusable prompts across your entire organization. Prompts can help automate repetitive tasks like generating unit tests or writing documentation, enforce coding standards by ensuring the same prompting mechanism is used, and help onboard new developers to AI workflows by sharing high-quality prompts, to name just a few use cases.

Once a prompt is created, it is automatically available in the editor extensions and can be used immediately. Learn more about the Prompt Library's features and capabilities in the docs.

Sourcegraph Cody IDE Extension

Sourcegraph gets even better when you combine it with your IDE. With Enterprise Starter, you can use Cody, our AI coding assistant, to access many of the above features directly in your IDE. Cody supports Visual Studio Code, JetBrains IDE’s like IntelliJ, PyCharm, GoLand, and has experimental support for Visual Studio and Eclipse.

Cody comes with traditional AI coding assistant features like autocomplete, in-line edits, and chat, as well as experimental support for agentic experiences like auto-edit and agentic chat. When you ask a question in the chat interface, we will do the same intent detection you see on the web and return either an LLM response from the model you choose or relevant code search results.
